Cancer is a disease that occurs when cells in the body change, forming uncontrolled, abnormal growths called tumors. In all cancers except leukemia (cancer of the blood), if left untreated, tumors can spread or spread to other parts of the body, including the blood and lymphatic system, and the nervous system. Can affect the system or release hormones that affect the body.

Tumors are not cancerous and are rarely life-threatening.

Malignant or Precancerous Tumors/Metastatic Cancer

Progress quite quickly, the health of the body does not come into second, and usually comes out similar to the mande. They will only cause a problem if they grow too large, become uncomfortable, or press on other organs - for example, the brainstem inside the skull. Benign tumors tend to grow rapidly and cause extensive destruction of neighboring tissues. 

Malignant tumor cells can break off the main (primary) tumor and spread to other parts of the body in a process called metastasis. They divide and stay when they invade healthy tissue in a new location. These secondary sites are called Metastases and the condition is called Metastatic Cancer.

  • Astrocytomas/Cancers of the brain and spinal cord

Cancer treatment

It depends on the type of cancer, your cancer, how well it's treated, whether it tells you anything and your general health. Common treatment efforts include surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, hormone therapy, immunotherapy, and gene therapy.

● Surgery

If cancer has not metastasized (spread), surgery is a curative treatment that removes cancer. Often, it is effective in removing the prostate or breast, or testicle.

● Radiotherapy

Radiation therapy or radiosurgery uses high-energy beams to shrink tumors or destroy cancer cells as a single treatment and in some cases in combination with other cancer treatments.

● Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy uses chemicals to interfere with the way cells divide - damaging the DNA - so that the cancer cells destroy themselves. These treatments are unlikely to spread rapidly in any case, but can usually heal the damage caused by a chemical while not killing the cancer cells. 

Chemotherapy is usually used to treat cancer that has spread or metastasized as the drugs travel through the body. It is important for some forms of leukemia and lymphoma.

● Immunotherapy

Immunotherapy uses the body's own immune system to fight cancer tumors. Amy can treat the patient by giving him an agent that can shrink the tumor.

● Hormone Therapy
